About Me
When I think about passion, homeopathy comes at the top of my list. An amazing recovery from a car accident in my 20s was the starting point for my interest, and I started my training after having my children
I have been practising homeopathy for over 20 years in Scotland, mainly in Dundee and St. Andrews, and more recently, in Edinburgh. As well as English, I understand and speak Urdu/Hindi, and am happy to consult with Urdu/Hindi speakers.
Over the years, I have treated women, men, and children – who have come for help with a diverse range of problems, ranging from coughs and colds to chronic long term conditions such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's.

People experience dis-ease in different ways, and whatever the label, the homeopath explores what your unique experience is, and finds a remedy suitable for you.
Aaraam means relief, ease, comfort in my mother tongue, and it is these qualities that are represented in my practice.
Whether online or face to face, I provide good listening skills, a safe and comfortable place to talk, and confidential storage of your information. I abide by the Code of Ethics of the Society of Homeopaths, the largest registering body in the UK. After the consultation, remedies are posted out to you so you receive them in the comfort of your own home.

ALL consultations are currently online, but in person can be arranged if online is not possible and it is safe to do so.
With the advent of Covid19, the safest way to practice homeopathy is online or by telephone. Online/telephone consulting is done from the comfort of your home, minimises travel, and fits your schedule. I use WhatsApp, Whereby or Zoom.

Ongoing Professional Development
My personal health concerns led me to explore energy medicine, leading to a fascination with the body’s abilities to look after itself. I qualified as a homeopath in 1998 in Edinburgh, and became a fully registered member of the Society of Homeopaths in 2003.
I have attended several post-graduate courses over the years, including 3 years with Dr Banerjea (Allen School of Homeopathy), and 3 years with Gurmej Virk (Aroga School of Homeopathy). I have broadened my prescribing approach, using the Sensation Method which enables a deeper understanding of the person being treated. My professional development is ongoing as I constantly expand the tools at my disposal to prescribe effectively.
Teaching
In addition to running my practice, I teach communication skills at the medical school of the University of Dundee. I am very passionate about teaching since good communication skills are an essential part of all medicine. My teaching portfolio includes teaching short interactive courses on using Homeopathy for everyday complaints. These are for those who want to learn to use homeopathy at home. Anxiety
Over the years, I have helped many people with anxiety issues. Every person is different, and expresses their anxiety in their own way. My job is to tease out their individual expression, which makes them different from anyone else. This helps in finding a suitable remedy. Whether it is a long standing or relatively new feeling, whether you are young or more mature, understanding how it affects you is fundamental to a good homeopathic prescription. This is a process that takes time, and the intention is to provide relief that will stand the test of time. If I see ten people with anxiety they will almost certainly each receive a different remedy, tailored to their individual needs.
ENT and Teeth: I have been working in these 2 areas more recently, building knowledge and experience. Whatever the specific issue/condition, the key is to look at the person behind the label.

Frequently Asked Questions
What can homeopathy treat?
Since homeopathy treats the whole person, it does not matter what complaint you have. Anyone, from babies to the elderly can use homeopathy and it is very safe.
What happens after taking a remedy?
The process of stimulating your immune system can lead to changes, for example, in your sleep and appetite, or changes in your energy output. Occasionally you can feel more tired or feel worse temporarily, before the beneficial effects begin. I am available for advice/support in between appointments if necessary. There are no side effects as remedies are not pharmaceutical drugs.
How long will the treatment take?
This will depend on the nature of your problem, and how long you have had it for. Long standing problems are likely to take longer than more recent problems.
How long are the consultations?
The first consultation is 2 hours long. This provides an opportunity to explore in detail what has brought you to the homeopath, and to build up a rounded and accurate picture of you as an individual to enable a good remedy match. Any subsequent meetings are up to an hour long. I will send you a questionnaire by email to fill in before the consultation. This helps me to tailor the consultation to you.
Do I have to believe in homeopathy for it to work?
No. I have treated sceptics with successful results! Babies, children and animals respond well to homeopathic treatment, and as far as I know, have no “beliefs”!
How often would I need to see a homeopath?
In the beginning, every 4-6 weeks, with the intention to lengthen the gap between appointments as progress takes place. It might be necessary to see a homeopath a few times, particularly for chronic, long term complaints. At follow up appointments, your condition is assessed in detail to evaluate remedy response. You might be prescribed a new remedy, or a repeat of the previous remedy, or be asked to wait if the remedy response is not clear. Waiting between appointments is important to give the mind-body time to respond to the remedy.
What happens if I need to cancel an appointment?
A minimum of 24 hours notice is required otherwise a fee will be charged.
The full fee will be charged for missed appointments.
Is there a separate charge for the remedy?
The U.K. consultation charges include the remedy prescribed for you. Occasionally, if extra remedies or tinctures are needed, then a small charge will be made.
If you live outside the U.K. the remedy is not included in the consultation fee.
